Happy Birthday to the Most Popular PC Game Ever!

The Sims first hit our PCs on February 4th, 2000. The Sims made popular the idea of virtual living and placed the gamer in a virtual world where every day-to-day command was at their finger tips, everything from sleeping and eating, to reading and bathing. The creator of the game, Will Wright, calls it a "digital dollhouse".

Although players are encouraged to make their own characters, certain pre-made ones are available, with the likes of the Newbie and Goth family, becoming very popular. The player controls almost all aspects of the lives of a family, either pre-made or self-created, sometimes being referred to as a god.
