Ad-aware provides protection from many known security threats to windows based operating systems such as data-miners, Trojans, dialers, malware and many more.
You can upgrade to the pro version for €27.95. Which in my opinion is competitive with other leading software of a similar nature. The pro version offers more in-depth protection. I would recommend upgrading to the pro version if you don’t have any internet security installed on your system.
I found that Ad-aware ran a lot smother than previous version, having used many version of this software over the years the protection has stayed constant, with routine updates to help keep my system free from unwanted threats.
Ad-aware as free software is good for the removal of all those unwanted threats. However the free version is very limited to what can be done and how much protection it offers.
The Ad-aware anti-virus software was the one fault I found with this due to running an independent anti-virus program, the program became conflicted and I found it better to simply disable the anti-virus part of the program.
