Camstudio Recorder lets you record what is on your monitor with a few simple clicks of the mouse.
Camstudio is uncomplicated and easy to use and offers a simple and effective way to record what is on your monitor, with support for multiple monitors. With multiple output formats and several recording compression formats this is a viable option for anyone look for a free way to record on screen activity.
The key feature to Camstudio is the recording process you will need to configure this to suit your personal needs. The configuration is quick and simple; you select the output format from the button labelled SWF, this give one of two file types AVI or SWF. Then you will need to set the compression method for the video there are five available.
What we like about Camstudio is that it is has multiple methods in which to record, you can customize which areas of your screen you wish to record. You can select a fixed area, a full screen, a single monitor or multiple monitors.
The one other noticeable feature was the ability to record sound; there are two methods in which to do so. The first is record via your microphone, and the second being record from the speakers. Both options give the ability either to add your own personal commentary or to add music to your videos.
One things that we felt needed to be improved was the codecs used all the Five codecs are old, but this does not mean they are bad there are newer codecs out there which perform better than those within Camstudio do.
Overall, this is a good option for recording your on screen activity we had no issue with system performance when recording was in process.
