Glary utilities is a collection of tool designed to keep you system running smoothly, with a registry cleaner, shortcut fixer, start-up manage, temporary file cleaner, history eraser, and spyware remover this has a good array of tools to do the job with.
There really is not much to the 1-click maintenance the options are clear and simple to read with little setup options it really is a case of tick which tools you wish to use and click scan for issues. We ran the all six programs and the whole process too no more than a few minutes and were completed and recovered about 2 gig of free space.
The main portion of the program consists of 5 main categories clean up and repair, optimize and improve, privacy and security, Files and folders, and system tools. Each category consists of 4 tools and each has a set task which is designed to help improve your system. We looked at some of the more commonly used tools from each of the five categories.
The disk cleaner tool was effective in helping to recover some of the space lost due to temp files, and other un-used files that was simply taking up space on the hard drive this process took about 5 minutes when run on a 250 gigabyte hard drive.
The memory optimizer is a nice way to recover memory back to the unused memory pool once applications such as office, Photoshop and other programs that require a huge amount of resources when running, this gave the system a nice boost.
File shredder will permanently delete files so that they cannot be recovered with conventional means and caution should be used when using such tools within this program as once a file gets deleted there is no way to recover the file. This was a quick and simple process and with options to include how many times the file is to be deleted; the average time for a one gigabyte file is about 2 minutes.
A nice feature we found with Glary was the built in duplicate and empty file/folder finder these tools became useful when you lose track of copy files from one drive to another or you have created folders in preparation for use but have never used them and thus they became redundant and are simply taking up resources on your computer.
Overall this is a really good free program with many options which are easy to use and a good help section you will have your system running and its full potential in no time.
