In Pictures: New 7 Wonders of the World
A list of the official Seven Wonders of the World was announced after hundreds of sites were nominated by over 100 million voters worldwide. The competition was tough and some breathtaking sites missed out, but in the end there could only be seven. The official winners were announced as follows:
Taj Mahal – Agra, India
Petra – Jordan
Great Wall of China – China
Christ the Redeemer – Rio de Janeiro, Brazil
Machu Picchu – Cuzco, Peru
Colosseum – Rome, Italy
Chichen Itza – Yucatán, Mexico
As expressed by the New7Wonders organisation, all seven sites are equal and unranked. They are all incredible in their own right. Browse the gallery of the new Seven Wonders of the World. Are your favourite landmarks there?
