With Orbit Downloader you can download files much faster. Beside the normal protocols (HTTP, HTTPS; FTP, MMWS, RTSP) you can use this tool also as flash downloader, stream catcher and for lots of other formats. Orbit Downloader also lets you download videos from YouTube or other video platforms. The Orbit Downloader splits the download into several pieces and downloads them simultaneously in order to save time. Downloads can also be planned and interrupted.

Orbit Downloader lets you download web content quick and easy and has support for the most commonly used internet browsers.
I found orbit Downloader to offer some nice extras to most of the other download managers out there. There are 2 major extras I noticed instantly.
The first is the ability to Download Music and videos from social media sites like Youtube and Myspace, there is a nice video tutorial on how to download for these sites which runs for about 3 minutes.
The second is the update manager Orbit Downloader has, this makes keeping your programs up to date quick and easy or so it would seem. The update manager tells you when new updates are available. However this simply takes you to a website which has no download links only a link to the homepage of the software.
If you take out the update manager which for me just seems like a poor attempt to promote a website. The software works well and all the other features you would expect from a download manager are there and function as expected.
In conclusion I feel with the added ability to download from social media sites this software works well and uses little system resources and best of all it is free.
