µtorrent is one of the oldest bit-torrent clients available today, with features such as free to download media content, the ability to share your own content and media, popular free to download apps and much more.
The first thing we get when opening µtorrent is the Featured content page this offers some of the up and coming events, movies and music with a lot of downloadable content which is free. At any given time there is approximately 20 pieces of featured media, and software, however there are more apps, music and other media content available in the new apps section.
The main purpose of µtorrent it to download via the P2P network that is bit torrent, with no built in access to site for downloading the torrent files from you will need to search the web or ask friends/family to share their torrent files with you.
With the increasing amount of mobile content and devices available on the market today µtorrent has done well to incorporate many of the most popular devices such as android, iPods/iPhones/iPad, also PS3 and Xbox support.
The speed of µtorrent has many factors to take into account, first being your internet connection, second the speed of the person or person you are connected to, and finally the amount of people who are seeding the file you wish to download. Generally µtorrent will make the most of these factors and give relatively good download/upload speeds depending on which of these you are carrying out.
The new app section of µtorrent gives a rather sparse amount of content and the web search function opens up in a browser and uses Bing in order to search for the content required. This gave a rather limited and disappointing fell as many of the other bit-torrent now incorporate a built in search function with links to the most commonly used torrent sites.
The creating of your own torrent files is quick and simple and with pre-set trackers to some of the most commonly used trackers server you can make your own torrent files to share with friends and family quick and easily.
Overall this is not a bad bit-torrent program there are some better ones but as a free to download bit torrent this will cover the need for the majority of average needs for the bit torrent user.
