Skype, celebrul IM pentru VoIP are o versiune noua. Un program foarte reuşit din mai multe puncte de vedere, cu cea mai buna claritate a sunetului în protocol VoIP.

Mulţi cunosc programul, desi multi nu-l folosesc sau nu l-au folosit niciodata. Principalul lui punct forte - are cel mai bun sistem de mesagerie vocala gratuit PC-to-PC (redarea vocii este ca la telefonia fixa sau mobila). Poate in Romania nu este foarte popular din cauza ca nu permite intercomunicarea cu soft-urile de mesagerie instanta, cum ar fi Yahoo! sau Windows Live Messenger.
Celor care folosesc mai mult comunicarea verbala, in defavoarea celei scrise, le recomand acest Skype, cel putin pentru a vedea diferentele. Pentru ati crea cont nu este nevoie sa te duci intr-o pagina web, unde sa ti se ceara tot felul de date personale, fiind de ajuns sa deschizi soft-ul si sa-ti creezi un cont instantaneu. Soft-ul dispune de o interfata 'easy-to-use' (tradus in limba romana) si de mai toate caracteristicile clasice pentru aplicaţiile de mesagerie instanta (sumar):
* posibilitatea apelurilor de voce PC-to-PC
* posibilitatea apelurilor video PC-to-PC
* mesagerie instant scrisa
* conferinta scrisa cu pana la 100 de utilizatori
* conferinta telefonica (PC-to-PC) cu pana la 4 utilizatori
* apelarea telefoanelor clasice (fixe sau mobile) contra cost (tarifele externe sunt bune)
* mesajele scrise si audio criptate
* nu este nevoie de configurari suplimentare ale setarilor de conectare la internet pentru a functiona fara probleme (isi seteaza automat configurarile in cazul firewall-urilor,NAT (network address translation) si router-lor)
*cerintele minime de sistem pentru a-l putea utiliza sunt mai mult decat accesibile - CPU 400MHz, 128 RAM, 15MB hardisk, placa audio, Win 2000/XP si o conexiune la internet de 33,6kbps

Skype vă permite atât să telefonaţi cât şi să comunicaţi vizual cu contactele de pe internet. Apelurile în conferinţă cu până la cinci participanţi sunt posibile. Mesajele text instantanee şi fişierele pot fi schimbate chiar şi în timpul apelurilor. Utilizatorii pot de asemenea intra în camerele de chat pentru a discuta cu persoane din întreaga lume. Este posibilă şi iniţierea de apeluri "Skype Out" către numere de telefon clasice, în urma plăţii unor taxe.

Skype - Este un utilitar gratuit si simplu care va permite efectuarea de apeluri telefonice oriunde in lume in doar cateva minute. Creat de aceleasi persoane care v-au adus programul Kazaa, Skype foloseste tehnologia P2P (peer-to-peer) pentru a va permite conectarea cu alti utilizatori. Programul poate fi instalat rapid si usor si ofera cateva utilitati dintre care putem aminti apelurile SkypeOut, efectuate dinspre Skype catre telefoane fixe si mobile din intreaga lume, apeluri gratuite in sitem conferinta si un transfer sigur al fisierelor. Apelurile Skype au o calitate mai buna a sunetului decat cel oferit de telefonul dumneavoastra obisnuit si sunt deosebit de sigure, datorita unui sistem de codificare a datelor terminal-catre-terminal. Este disponibila si o versiune a programului pentru PDA. Versiunea 1.3 adauga utilitati care permit o imunizare imbunatatita, o interfata superioara si de asemenea integrarea unui Browser Manager pentru detectarea programelor spion, plus noua caracteristica “Fisiere Gazda”, precum si remedieri ale bug-urilor preexistente.

Deoarece Skype vă permite atât să telefonaţi cât şi să comunicaţi vizual cu contactele de pe internet tot mai multe persoane aleg varianta extinsa a serviciilor pentru a putea beneficia de functia de apel "Skype Out" către numere de telefon clasice.
Sunt de asemenea mult apreciate pelurile în conferinţă cu până la cinci participanţi.
Mesajele text instantanee şi fişierele pot fi schimbate chiar şi în timpul apelurilor.
Tot mai multe firme comercializeaza telefoane compatibile SKYPE si se pare viitorul ai surade acestui tip de telefonie.
