I first came across Gizmo when I was looking for a virtual drive manager, but quickly found Gizmo to be much more.
The main feature of gizmo not the Drive manage as the name would suggest but the Toolbar you get that comes with it. Now when many think of a tool bar they think those internet browser add-ons which come with spyware and other unwanted content, however this is different this is a desktop toolbar.
This is essentially a replacement for your windows quick launch task-bar. I found the setting up of the tool bar to be quick and simple and with spending just over 20 mins I have my self a toolbar with all my most used applications, folders and internet links.
This made my life easier as I dont want all my most commonly used program to start when windows starts, so to have them all at hand like this made not only my task bar cleaner but also decreased the need for some programs to start on start-up.
Next we come to the virtual drives this is pretty much the same as you would get from any virtual drive software but one thing I liked with this programs again returns to the toolbar feature all my most commonly used CD/DVD images can be stored on the toolbar and with a simple click the disk is mounted and there is no need to open the program.
Finally there is the Database this is a very useful tool if like myself you have your own websites that runs using MySQL or another online database in which you manage your site with. This options lets you backup and manage your databases in an offline environment.
This is now a part of every one of my computers it uses little system resources and best of all it is Freeware. This has even made my life easier for when I am using virtual PC on my laptop as the Virtual Hard-drive feature is compatible with Microsoft virtual PC.
For me this one of the most practical programs I have come across in a long time and is one of them programs which is usable and has a purpose for any windows user.
